LPG (LPG stands for Liquefied Petroleum Gas) is a clean and efficient energy source that is readily available to consumers around the world. LPG is a by-product of natural gas and crude oil; unique properties make it a universal source of energy and widely used in the economy.

It is used in the following areas:

  • transport to power engines,
  • households (heating, lighting, cooking),
  • metal, construction, glass, ceramic, textile industries,
  • paper and printing industry for moisture-removing radiation heaters,
  • food industry for baking, heating boilers for the production of preserves, for juice pasteurization,
  • agriculture, poultry farming, drying grasses, in greenhouses for heating,
  • tourism

Properties of LPG

According to the Polish standard PN-82 / C-96000, liquid hydrocarbon gases (C3 - C4) are qualified as liquefied and under the pressure of their own vapors mixtures of aliphatic hydrocarbons, the basic components of which are defined in this standard with the letter C with a numerical index:

  • Propane, propylene - C3,
  • Butane, butenes and butadienes - C4,

And in smaller quantities:

  • Methane - C1,
  • Ethane, ethylene - C2,
  • Petans, higher petenes I - C5.

Depending on the content of basic hydrocarbons and the intended use, three types of mixtures of hydrocarbon gases (liquid C3 - C4) are distinguished: technical butane (mixture A), propane technical butane (mixture B), technical propane (mixture C).

Multiple sources

LPG is obtained in two ways:

  • from boreholes in the ground,
  • processing of crude oil in refineries.

LPG deliveries are not conditional on the availability of a single source

Flexible and decentralized distribution network

Unlike the disturbance sensitive fixed network, LPG can be transported from anywhere using the optimal sea and land connection.

The combustion of LPG produces less pollution than the combustion of heating oil, diesel fuel, wood or coal. The emission of benzene and heavy aromatic hydrocarbons is also lower. Carbon dioxide emissions are 20% lower than when burning fuel oil and 50% lower than when burning coal.
